Happy Badger's Dream

Before Happy Badger was founded, we shared a dream of a place for gamers that board gamers, role-players, and other gaming enthusiasts in Turku would consider a second home - a place anyone could come to and get to know others through playing together. We wanted to build this home for gamers, on gamers' terms, for gamers. We began shaping that dream into reality, and that's how Happy Badger was born.

Happy Badger's goal is to create inclusive and safe gaming experiences, where the joy of playing together builds relationships, supports personal growth, and fights loneliness.

Happy Badger's name comes from the original Forest Prince, a plush badger who lives at the home of our CEO, Jaakko. Our group of friends' first shared game was: "whoever spots the badger first wins the game." This badger hunt eventually led to the birth of our group's totem animals. The Forest Prince guided Jaakko during his bachelor party via walkie-talkie in a forest-horror live-action role-playing game, and ultimately led him to his friends.

Happy Badger Game Experiences Oy was founded in Turku in March 2023 by three friends. Together we've gathered experience from a wide variety of gaming and shared activities over more than ten years, and now it's our time to share that accumulated know-how with others. Happy Badger's concept and mission began taking shape in late January through several brainstorming sessions, where we considered how we could recreate and share our experiences of the joy of playing together. As the business grew, a new company called Happy Badger Oy was founded in spring 2026.

Happy Badger creates gaming experiences. We bring people together and fight against exclusion. We emphasize the joy of playing together, and our work extends to all things gaming: "All about gaming."
