Happy Badger Game Experiences is sending a team to represent us at the 2025 Finnish Championship team competition for board gaming!

One of spring's most anticipated events is approaching, as Happy Badgers heads to Turku for the Finnish Championship team competition on Saturday, April 26th! The tournament will be held in the lobby of the Turku Finnish-language Adult Education Centre (Tyovaenopisto). The tournament is organized by the Finnish Board Game Association.

In the Finnish Championship tournament, teams of four compete, with each player playing a different game at their own table. Points based on standings are collected at each table into the team's shared pot - Happy Badgers is of course aiming for the Finnish championship title and a trip to represent Finland at the European Championships in Germany!

Happy Badgers is preparing seriously for the competition, and the following players have been selected to represent the happy badgers:

The players bring their own strengths, experience and game sense to the competition. Strategies have now been honed, competition games have been analyzed and practiced, dice have been rolled and team spirit has been built — now it's time to put it all into play!

What's it all about?

The tournament features four different board games, competed at individual tables but as a team. The 2025 competition games are: Dune Imperium - Uprising, Darwin's Journey, Earth and Age of Innovation. Points are calculated based on rankings by team, and at the end the Finnish champions are crowned. The Finnish champions receive an invitation to represent Finland at the European Championships in October in Essen, Germany.

The event is free for spectators, and you can join the excitement of the championships either by enjoying the games in person or by following live results on Happy Badger's Instagram stories.
